Two Monroe men face battery charges after a weekend spate of incidents. Rufus Gardner 34 is charged with attempted murder for allegedly firing at Virgie Henderson 32 after an argument over Gardner's wife. Minnie Goldsmith 34 is charged with aggravated battery for injuring Lavelle Dunaway with broken glass at a bar. Lennie Williams 18 is charged with simple battery for dragging Agnes Bragg from a moving car. she was hospitalized three days.
