Secretary Froehlke announced a planned streamlining of the Army command system, the first major overhaul in 10 years. Plans for a regional emergency medical delivery system covering 11 parishes in Northeast Louisiana with 300000 residents could be in operation within 12 to 18 months. Albert Robinson of the Northeast Louisiana Area Health Planning Council outlined a 15 vehicle, 20 hospital ER network staffed by three EMS technicians per unit.
