City Funds Invested From Bonds For School Program

Sniper Wounds Train Engineer Near Palmdale
A sniper wounded a freight train engineer at a crossing three miles south of Palmdale California. The fireman took control of the train and prevented an accident as investigators said Joe Meeks 53 of Bakersfield was struck in the chest by a bullet from a distant hill. He was hospitalized in serious condition.
