Saturday card party from 3 to 6 p m honored Mrs W P Lavin of Chicago visiting her mother Mrs J C Amman. Decorations included red dahlias and ferns in the reception hall pink and white roses in the parlor and dining room. Winners were Mrs Albert Horaff first in bridge and Mrs F A Wright high in five hundred. Second in five hundred went to Miss Belle Downs. Hostess and guests included numerous Amman and Wright family members and others. Also noted were visits from Mrs Henry C Blanks of Columbia and Cradle Roll photographs to be sold at Grim's Studio. A Work Day meeting for Sunbeams at First Baptist Church was announced.

Mary Frances Sewing Society Sees Three Absences at Meeting
Three members were absent from the Mary Frances Sewing Society gathering Saturday at Alodi Blanks home on South Grand street. After a business session the members sewed for over an hour while refreshments of lemonade, cake and ice cream cones were served by Mrs. Wo. B. Blanks. Misses Annie and Polly DeGraftenreid will host the next meeting on Saturday October 18.
