A Vicksburg Shreveport Pacific train struck a broken rail near Milhaven causing the sleeper and dining cars to derail and tumble down the embankment. Six people were hurt including passengers from Meridian Chicago Longview Troy and New York with ambulances and doctors on site.

Great Entrants in International Air Races at St Louis
Clear autumn weather and a 20 mile wind greet entrants for the second day of international air races in St Louis. A Farman sport plane built in France by Henry Farman entertained crowds as the first race began. The 23 foot wing span, 500 pound craft can fly from 20 to 80 miles per hour.
