Richard Sandler former Swedish foreign minister told the UN political committee Sweden favors an international control system based on the majority UN plan to curb atomic power. He rejected the Russian minority proposal saying security requires strong oversight and that sovereignty must be curbed to act now while technical limits persist.
Gov. Thomas E. Dewey, confident of victory four weeks before the election, plans no change in his campaign pace while awaiting a detailed briefing from foreign policy adviser John Foster Dulles. Dewey returned to Albany after a 60 speech western tour and will meet Dulles to discuss Berlin blockade developments. Senator Arthur Vandenberg will discuss foreign policy on CBS radio tonight.
Governor Earl Long expressed optimism about reducing the record tax program when the 1950 legislature opens. He thanked lawmakers for cooperation after the special session and urged support for 41 constitutional amendments on the November ballot, while defending his administration and promising corrections if wrong actions are found.

Long filed a $1,020,000 libel suit against Rep. Domengeaux and the paper after reiterations of the charge.
