Civic Day Planned at Ouachita Valley Fair
Kiwanis club of West Monroe set Civic Club day for Thursday at the Ouachita Valley fair with a joint lunch for Twin Cities luncheon clubs. Fires Put Out at Two Monroe Homes
Firefighters from Monroe extinguished blazes at 1909 Jackson street, home of Mrs E Sherlin, and at 1606 Bre ard street, a dwelling occupied by Wallace Anderson. Both fires caused minor damage, confined to a back porch and the roof respectively, with alarms 15 minutes apart from 3:30 and 3:45 p.m. A separate trash fire behind the Paramount theater was also extinguished by Monroe firemen.
