The burning freighter Diana Dollar bound Genoa to San Pedro is likely beached in Banderas Bay, 1125 miles south of San Pedro. A report to the Radio Corporation of America says an explosion occurred while hatch covers were lifted to pump water into hold six, fire spreading as the crew prepared to abandon ship.
