Little League Benefit Dance Planned by Local Clubs

Miss Lillian Collins parish registrar of voters said registration for the coming national elections closes Saturday at noon. She noted a steady stream of registrations and urged those not yet registered to act, but residents who have voted this year are registered and need only re register after January 1. West Monroe stabbing suspect held in death of Homer Turner

Esther Beile Huston, a Black woman, is in Ouachita parish jail for investigation in the fatal stabbing of Homer Lee Turner at College Point Ridge Drive West Monroe after a Tuesday night dance. Turner, who arrived around 11 30 p m with a baseball bat, reportedly tried to enter the hall without a ticket and later entered with the bat. Witnesses say Turner had been drinking and sought more wine, and the fight occurred after the dance. Petit Jurors Named For U. S. Court Here Monday

The United States District Court western district of Louisiana will open its term at the Monroe post office on October 6 presiding judges Dawkins and Porterie.
