Wallace R. Bunn Jr. of Southern Bell told the closing session of the Business Management Institute last night that the present national administration is creating a socialist trend in private enterprise. The remark was part of a broader critique of government policies.
Funeral services for S Drew Kennedy longtime West Monroe resident and former mayor will be held Saturday at 10am Kilpatrick's Funeral Home Chapel. He died Monday age unknown interment in Hasley's Cemetery under Kilpatrick's direction. Kennedy a retired drug business co owner resided at 30% Medorah Dr West Monroe and had lived there 32 years since coming from Eros. He opened a garage and drug business with Fred Bennett at 223 Trenton St later selling his share in 1945 and retiring. He served four terms as city alderman starting in 1942 and acted as assistant mayor under the late Gal son. He was a Mason and Shriner. Survivors include his widow Betsy Kennedy two sons Samuel Dawson Kennedy and Donald Drew Kennedy a brother Charles Ray Kennedy and four sisters Emma Jordan Ida Fluitt Laura Morris Olive Powell.
