Harvey Miller of Shreveport 33 says he was beaten by one of three men after a car ride alleged to involve prohibition informant status. Orleans stock broker shoots self to death
Edward M. Gueydan a 47 year old New Orleans stock broker and Japan Cotton agent was found dead in a hotel room with a note requesting no funeral nor clergy. Coroner George Roeling said a pistol lay by his right temple and Gueydan had been a prominent figure in cotton brokerage and a speaker on the local cotton committee. He left a widow two sons and a daughter.

Robbery Loots Money Bags From Southern Rail Express
Two armed men halted a Southern Railway passenger train near Birmingham at 5:40 a.m. and escaped with seven to eight thousand dollars in currency from money bags headed to banks between Birmingham and Selma. Express messenger G. C. Findley was held at gunpoint as the robbers transferred the loot and fled when the train slowed for a downtown crossing.
