Cec Hardin a 19 year old orphan from Lake Charles and Emedel Hebert, 15 from Sulphur, wed in Algiers after Sheriff Lyons released Hardin from night court. The couple, escorted by police, married despite earlier failed attempts to obtain a Lake Charles marriage license amid a rainstorm.
In New Orleans on November 29, Frederick KL Wrater, superintendent of the Home for Homeless, announces free turkey dinners for the down and outs. About 300 meals have been prepared and are to be served at the Home for Homeless, inviting those in need to attend.
Jess McKenzie Tenn November 29 A man calling himself Buck Lacy was captured at 2 am from a coal car by a posse while two bandits who robbed the Bank of MecKenzie yesterday fled with about $16,000 in cash and bonds. Nine thousand one hundred dollars were found on the prisoner, with 2500 in gold. The man, tall and heavy, had a 45 caliber pistol and claimed to be a tramp.
A federal jury found thirteen of twenty six defendants guilty of conspiracy to violate the national vehicle theft act in theft and interstate transportation. Acquittals were returned for several defendants as the jury remained deadlocked on the rest and a new trial was planned.
