American naval experts presented to Japanese and British detailed answers and questions from last week about the naval reduction program. Denby denied reports that U S officers opposed the plan or that he ordered them not to oppose it.
Fatty Arbuckle testified in his own defense naming only Mrs. May Taube as a guest at the party and recounting helping Virginia Rappe after she fell ill. He said he planned to go out with Mrs. Taube shortly after the alleged injury and described finding Rappe on the bathroom floor and later on the bed in his room.
Louisiana imposes a quarantine on cotton and cottonseed shipments from Texas Oklahoma and New Mexico. Through shipments to New Orleans are allowed on export bills but local movement is blocked. Quarantine follows pink bollworm sightings in Ellis and Grey counties Texas and areas of New Mexico.
Washington reports the nine powers on the Pacific and Far Eastern panel adopted a resolution for relinquishing foreign post office privileges in China. They set January 1 1923 as the abandonment date. Japan asked for more time to consult its government before finalizing its stance.

Governor Parr named Theo F. Terzia of Mawes and Parlor City Lumber Co. to Ouachita parish police jury ward No 3, succeeding H. F. Alexander. Terzia pledged cooperation with the jury and taxpayers, aiming for a businesslike, faction-free administration.
In San Francisco on November 28 the Arbuckle manslaughter trial drew attention with the planned appearance of Louise Glaum and six others from the motion picture industry under subpoenas. Arbuckle aims to testify, despite opposition from business interests, as counsel argue his honesty and resolve will carry the case.
Washington reports Prohibition Commissioner Haynes exonerated special agent B. Henson over a raid on a Savannah residence without a warrant. Officials say a warrant existed for a home near Miss Bessie Garden’s residence but the raiders entered the Garden home by mistake. Willie Young aged 18 accidentally shot and killed Harry Crawford aged 21 at Cargas carbon plant in Ouachita Parish. The youths played with a shotgun in Crawford's home when Crawford tried to take the gun. it fired into his stomach and he died about twenty minutes later. Deputy Sheriff D L Roper investigated. no arrests were made.
West Carroll Parish Fair Association executives schedule a December meeting in Forest to organize for the coming year. They aim to make full preparations for the next October fair, print catalogs, and circulate them before winter ends.
The forecast calls for a clear night with continued cool temperatures and a Tuesday return to fair conditions with warmer daytime highs.

An early morning arson attempt targeted Charles Stewart, Missouri Pacific railway engineer, at his cottage 200 South Fourth Street. Gas pipes were cut and flames started in a central room while the house was empty, with drawers opened and possible burglary suspected. Firefighters from Monroe No. 3 put out the blaze. a hole in the floor and a burned girder were noted as damage.
C E Woolman district agent for LSU extension spent several days in Monroe arranging a successor to B M Jackson who has resigned as Ouachita parish agricultural agent effective January 1 He said a transfer of an agent from another Northeastern Louisiana parish to Monroe is probable but he could not name the prospective successor.
North Louisiana pecan harvest expands with demand at historic highs. C R Beauchamp of Philadelphia signs for 100000 pounds in northeast Louisiana while Louis Stockner reports over 100000 pounds secured in East Carroll parish. Other buyers statewide push large purchases as growers note record profits and rising market activity. Prices around seven cents per pound.
Union County farmer Dr J H Carroll earned over six hundred thousand dollars yearly from oil royalties after investments near El Dorado. He and his son bought a 200 acre tract in 1918 for two thousand dollars. twenty four wells now produce oil and more are being drilled. Carroll aims to sell the fertile land along the Quachita river and spend his declining days hunting, fishing, and raising poultry and cattle.
