New Orleans November 27 The highway advisory board met for reorganization with Governor Huey P. Long as president to review over 3 million dollars in highway contracts awarded yesterday in Baton Rouge and to initiate the first 15 million dollar road bonds. The 19 member joint board includes John Legier as chairman and the governor as chairman of the liquidation board with the police jury president of Louisiana. The meeting was held in Governor Longs Roosevelt offices.

Albert Bolstad a 30 year old seaman was knocked down by an automobile and killed on Thanksgiving Day in New Orleans. The accident occurred as he crossed a street near the waterfront. Police investigated and no other injuries were reported.
The Federal Farm Board failure to raise prices lowers flour cost and returns 8 cent sixteen ounce bread to many U S cities. In Monroe cheap flour reduces baker’s bread sales by about $1 000 weekly as more home bread is made. The city sees demand for lower bread prices following the flour drop.
Miss Roberta Robbins 19 of Little Rock died when a car carrying three men and a woman from Shreveport overturned near Atlanta Texas late last night. Ray Messer and Ernest Messer were seriously injured. all four injured were Shreveport workers en route to the University of Arkansas Centenary game.
A spectacular fire in Jackson Mississippi endangered more than 1200 inmates at the State Hospital for the Insane. The blaze destroyed the negro ward on the top floor, with damage estimated at $150000. Inmates were rescued from the affected wing as plans were considered to move the remaining white patients.
