Chief Brantley said police are on the lookout for Hans Schulz a German prisoner of war who escaped during roll call at Camp Ruston near Ruston last night. Schulz 6 feet 1 inch tall about 173 pounds with dark brown hair and eyes a fair complexion and a flat nose. The F B I noted he wore a U S army field jacket and overseas cap. Schulz cannot speak English and is described as years old.
Allied dispatches report General Montgomery's Eighth Army breached the Sangro River in Italy establishing a 9000 yard wide by 2000 yard deep bridgehead. German 65th Infantry fought hard as Allies pushed nearly a mile and a half inland and prepared for further resistance along the Adriatic front.
