Edwards outlines pay raise plans at LEA meeting
Governor Edwin Edwards told Louisiana educators at the 72nd annual LEA session in Monroe that a special legislative session will fund a 5.5 percent cost of living raise for teachers totaling 30 million dollars. He proposed financing the pay increase by cutting the state budget and boosting gas and oil severance taxes.
