Wildcat Kill Near Kelly By Hunters
Truett Brooks and C. M. Dunn, while hog hunting in Black Bayou swamp near Kelly, were attacked by a large wildcat. Dunn shot the animal with a .22, causing a wound that stopped the charge. Brooks then killed the cat at close range with a shotgun. The wildcat weighed 42 pounds and measured about three and a half feet in length.

Woman Injured in Severe Logansport Storm
In Oak Grove near Logansport a violent wind storm struck about eight this morning. Mrs. Jim Roberts was severely injured when a tree fell on her as she walked to her storm house, suffering a deep facial gash requiring seven stitches. The Taramore Miller filling station roof was blown off and several outhouses and trees toppled. Oak Grove School escaped damage. The air was filled with flying timbers and a heavy rain followed.
