Youth Killed in Winnsboro Shooting Shocks Parish
An 18 year old Winnsboro resident David Henry White died at the scene after a predawn gunfight with Deputy Charles Currington and Deputy Marshal M C Shorty Hitt. Hitt, shot three times, is hospitalized in guarded condition. The incident began when White reportedly pulled a gun on a North Street resident prompting a search. White was killed as he aimed at Hitt after wrestling him to the ground. Coroner and local funeral arrangements are noted.
