The Twin City Community Chest second annual drive reached about $27.70 short of the $27,70 goal but pledges totaling $551.50 on Thursday lifted the local campaign toward completion. Final tabulations were released at chest headquarters in the Virginia hotel Thursday night.

White and others tied to local businesses like Greens Grocery Perry Lumber and Stovall Driling and Tiger Foundry. The roster also mentions employees connected to various firms and city departments.
Rome Nov 15 George Erret of New York and Grace Gunther, both U S citizens, were convicted of violating Italy foreign exchange laws and given seven and six years in prison. Erret was fined 390000 lire about 15000 dollars and Gunther 50000 lire about 2500 dollars. The trial began yesterday.
