Miss Polly Whitehead an aeronautics student at Louisiana State University and Miss Lazelle Holmes both from Baton Rouge were killed when their car overturned several times three miles from Slidell on a weekend trip to the Mississippi coast. Three Fugitives Return to Prison in Louisiana

Fatal headon crash near Girard claims Cecil Duncan
A head on collision on the Dixie Overland highway near Girard at 3 am left Cecil Duncan 25 of Rayville dead 24 hours later. Wilson Johnson 22 Rayville and Otis Parr Waycross GA remain in serious condition at St Francis sanitarium. The other occupants escaped with minor injuries. Duncan’s funeral is set for Tuesday at 10 am in Rayville with Rev Hooks officiating.
