Louisiana bonds bid leads to postponement call in protest
Former Governor John M. Parker of the Louisiana Constitutional League urged the state board of liquidation to delay a $5,000,000 block of hard surfaced highway bonds. The sale by Caldwell and Company of Nashville was approved six to one despite Parker’s Irregularities charge. The bid included a $41,500 premium. The meeting, led by Gov Huey P Long, followed Parker’s request that bonds not be sold before March 1, 1930.
