Cottingham Re-elected President At Louisiana Baptist Convention
The Louisiana State Baptist Convention re elected Prof Cottingham as president by rising vote. New officers named include T. H. McGregor Judge Cass J. Moss Rev C P Reney Rev W S Sloan and E W Deeg. The group announced plans to admit women delegates in the future and praised hospitality in Monroe where the meeting was held.

The church was rebuilt in a new house on the corner of Grammon and Jackson streets after abandonment of the earlier site. Mrs. Phinetta B Hasley of Trenton La funded and aided erecting the current building for the Baptist congregation. A marble tablet honors Hasley's donation and notes the year 1877.
