Recluse with Atom Bomb Interest Held by FBI in Oakland
Otto F. Maynard a 42 year old Oakland man living in a crude shack near the bay bridge was held for the FBI amid questions about his interest in the atom bomb and defense. Police found photos of industrial plants and bridges plus 33 photographic items and notes on the bomb but he said his work was for readying himself amid high rents and a fear of the bomb. An FBI agent planned to question him.

Six Hurt In Two Auto Mishaps On U S Highway 80
Six persons were seriously injured in two separate accidents on U S Highway 80 between Monroe and Ruston over the weekend. Five accidents were reported on the widened highway during rain Saturday. The injured include Tommy Trawick and Bobby Cudd of Monroe both Louisiana Tech students. The Gracy couple Leroy Christopher and his wife from Merced California, and Charles Booth of Shreveport were also hurt. Trawick and Cudd received treatment at Wright Bender clinic and were improving. Gracy suffered a broken nose and chest injuries. his wife ankle and leg injuries. Christopher and Booth were taken to Ruston clinic with head neck and other injuries.
