Scouts to Adopt Budget at Meet Set for Sunday
Ouachita Valley Boy Scout council executive board will meet at the parish courthouse at 3 o clock Sunday to adopt the budget prepared in council committee sessions. Only executive board members may vote on budget matters. The board includes president three vice presidents commissioner treasurer seventeen district chairmen and thirteen council committee chairmen. Additional finance and council challenges will be discussed as the annual budgeting process moves toward final adoption.

Survivor tells of 70 hours adrift after Brooklyn wreck
Jorgen M. Greve first officer of the lumber schooner Brooklyn survived more than 70 hours on wreckage after the vessel sank off Humbolt Bay. Rescued by the Two Sisters five miles offshore, he described pounding seas, a damaged pilot house, and paddling with two planks to shore. He is the lone survivor among 18 crew.
