104 Year Old Mrs Jones Dies in Oak Grove
Mrs Nancy Jones 104, possibly the oldest woman in north Louisiana, died Monday at her daughter M C Cain’s home north of Oak Grove. Funeral Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. near Forrest with Rev B H Lott officiating. Survived by daughter and son George French of Delhi, 40 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Native of Mississippi, 15 years in this parish.

Armistice Day Observed in Twin Cities with Parades and Ceremonies
Armistice day was observed in the Twin Cities with offices closed and many stores reduced hours. A veterans parade sponsored by the L. B. Faulk post of the American Legion moved through downtown Monroe ending near the Jewish temple where a 10 30 a.m. service was held. The Rodney J. Hobbs post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars dedicated a flag pole at the Louisiana Baptist Children's home at 11 a.m. followed by a public address by Will Harvey Todd Jr. at the post home. The parade route began near Ouachita Parish High School, moved through DeSiard and Sixth streets to Harrison and Jackson streets, ending at Central Grammar School. The temple was filled with veterans and the program included an organ prelude, hymn, and the American Legion preamble led by Post Commander W. L. Rothermel.
