O. J. Oleson general superintendent of two Kraft paper mills in Bastrop, died of a heart attack Wednesday morning while shaving at home. He had led the mills since 1927 after joining Bastrop in 1920 from the north. Survived by his widow and son Gunnar Oleson of Cincinnati. funeral plans to follow the son’s arrival.
Treasury received 15 from a former relief recipient who sent a letter with the check stating that during February and March 1934 he received groceries and meat valued at about 15 through Los Angeles county welfare department and now refunds the amount as his circumstances improve.
The Roosevelt administration indicated it may request additional money this fiscal year to supplement the $1,425,000,000 current appropriation for work relief. President Roosevelt noted that the amount will depend on ongoing studies of relief needs and other budget topics.

Theogene Ortego, oil land owner, shot estranged wife three times in a mobile on a Eunice street, then killed himself. Police said Mrs Ortego suffered a single chest wound and a right side shot while attempting to wrest the gun. The couple had been separated. she recently won alimony and property in court. Ortego owned a 60 acre Tepetate field tract with Continental Oil wells.
