The Ouachita parish police jury adopted an ordinance to advertise for sale road district No. 1 bonds totaling 1 112 000 dollars dated February 1 1920 at five percent interest for forty years bids due January 12 with a 27 000 dollar bank cashier s check. If unsold a certain 52 000 dollar serial issue may be offered with a 1 300 dollar check.

Mail Sack at Sibley Robbed of Seven Thousand Dollars
A mail sack on a truck at the V S & P depot in Sibley was ripped open and about $7,000 stolen. J W Shields, railroad agent at Sibley, urged local authorities to meet V S & P trains and watch for suspects as the investigation proceeds. Initial reports placed the funds from a Minden bank to Shreveport, later clarified that shipments from Minden would travel via the L A and not L A to Sibley and V S & P.

Italian Benevolent Society to Observe Armistice Day
A. S. Valentine and Italian colony leaders near completion of the Victor Emanuel II Sick and Benevolent Society of Monroe now has sixty five members. Flags bought by the society will be blessed at St Matthew's Church after the Armistice Day parade tomorrow. Members will join Armistice Day exercises and a Knights of Columbus hall dance will follow with lunch served.
