Willis Hollis of Bernice, one of three men trying to rob the S W Hamilton mercantile in Dubach, was critically wounded by a house at the back door. Hollis and his brothers fled as a watchman fired. He told officers he and two companions had earlier robbed the O P Raley store in Dubach. Rex Hollis and another brother arrived after the shooting.
