At Mitchell Field New York on November 7 Lieut A J Williams known as Al rises from wet turf and ascends nearly one mile in one minute before 30000 spectators. He holds the world speed record of 266.8 miles per hour set last week. The previous ascent speed record was 2000 feet in one minute by Roland Rohlf.
In Atlanta on November 7 Judge Hathcock dismissed peace warrants against H. K. Ramsey Imperial Kligraff Brown Harwood and T. J. McKinnon head of investigation after Dr. Fred B. Johnston failed to appear. The warrant against Imperial Wizard H W Evans remains unresolved. Philip E Fox Kau Klux Klan publicity chief may be tried if arrangements are completed.
The trial of T Jeff Burnett and Harley Rogers for assault with a dangerous weapon tied to hooded gang activity in Bastrop last year resumed before Judge Fred M Odom. Neelis testified to a two stage holdup on August 17 1922 with Burnett denied involvement and witnesses placing Burnett at Spyker. Counsel for defendants at the Morehouse parish district court opened by asking for an hour to prepare a motion to recuse Judge Fred M. Odom.
