Police probe reveals Herman Letsch, his wife Anna, and their 12 year old son died of starvation in a Chicago home after a fanatical self imposed vow to purge lust. A note for the son lay on a bed. a German letter criticized churches and named a local pastor. The boy died first, then the mother, and the father perished three days ago.

Fifty-six medical missions and forty-two educational ones operate there, with funds totaling tens of millions yearly. Charles Clendenning a 12 year old boy is held by police in Memphis for pickpocketing. He says he was enticed from East St. Louis by John Mullins alias George Edwards of Cairo Illinois. He accuses several associates from St. Louis and Birmingham Alabama of teaching him the crime and moving him across the country. He says he was not allowed to keep what he took and was paid only his expenses as a reward.
