The body of Second Lt. Paul A. Nachtwey, former Selman Field cadet, killed in Belgium, arrived in Monroe and will be buried at Monroe Memorial Park with full military rites by the American Legion. A Rochester, New York native, Nachtwey trained at Selmar Field and married Thais Norris in 1944. He flew 25 missions aboard a B 17 before his plane went down December 29 1944.

Bus Fires Hit Two Sites Near Jackson Mississippi
Officials of Southern Bus Lines report a bus en route to Meridian was fired on four miles west of Brandon and later struck in the rear while traveling from Louisiana to Jackson. No injuries. Violence followed a May 20 strike by drivers and a terminal explosion at Hattiesburg last Saturday.
