Allied offensives intensify on the western front with Haig near Valenciennes and Pershing advancing east and west of the Meuse. German defenses retreat as Stenay and Sedan area gaps threaten encirclement, while Italian hostilities end at 3 o clock Central Time.
The terms of the armistice by Austria-Hungary have been received in full at the State Department and will be published later today. The announcement comes from Washington on November 4.
A southbound Missouri Pacific local freight wreck near Steam Boat Spur damaged eight box cars after an open switch caused the engine to overturn. Engineer Van Foster suffered possible spinal injury. Fireman Joe Evans had a bruised back and hip. Both were brought to Monroe for treatment. Evans is brother of J Louis Evans of Hudspeth, Foster brother of John B Foster of the Foster Jewelry Company.
A city breakdown halts power with no lights tonight and likely Tuesday. Mayor Apgar says piston ring failure in the Harrisburg engine prevents domestic current until parts arrive from Shreveport tomorrow. The Allis-Chalmers engine is being repaired and may run Tuesday. Westinghouse parts are delayed to December 2.

Copenhagen reports via the Frankfort Gazette that Russia will not resume indemnity payments to Germany. After paying two installments, Russia halted transport of gold and banknotes to Germany, signaling a break in financial settlement.
