Native of Alabama she lived in Monroe nearly 60 years and was active in First Metro church. Survived by sister Mrs Agnes Rawling brother Olin Green and niece Miss Lillie Green with nephews A H Green and A L Green. Funeral this afternoon at home with Rev M S Monk officiating. burial in city cemetery.

Starved Japanese schooner found with dead crew drifted 4000 miles
In Port Townsend a drifting 85 foot Japanese fishing schooner the Ryo Yei Maru was found with two dead seamen and eight skeletal remains after an eleven month voyage from Misako near Yokohama. The log records starvation and cannibalism as food and water ran out. The derelict was towed to Port Townsend by the Margaret Dollar and handed to federal authorities.
