The Hall and Stevens siblings stand charged with 1922 murders of Rev Edward Hall and Mrs Eleanor Mills. Jurors were chosen after court opened with 110 witnesses subpenaed. defense has not named witnesses yet. No woman juror was selected despite efforts by special prosecutor Senator Simpson.
Legal complications that could delay the Hall Mills murder trial were resolved to prevent more than 48 hours’ delay. Judges Parker and Cleary ruled a new panel could be drawn within 24 to 48 hours if needed. The panel was reduced to 27 with nine eligibles. The rector's widow Frances Stevens Hall and her brothers Henry and Willie Stevens face trial for Mrs Mills' murder, with Henry De La Bruyere Carden... awaiting trial for participation in the double murder.
In New York on November 3 a large field of 19 women seeking to join the three incumbent House members saw only one victory. Mrs. John W. Langley of Kentucky won, while the three current women in the House Mrs. Florence P. Kahn Mrs. Edith Nourse Rogers and Mrs. Mary T. Norton were re elected. Ella Tenney Sanford of Wisconsin aimed for the Senate but lost to John J. Blaine running as a prohibitionist.

Westport Connecticut November 3. John Held Jr., Democratic candidate for Congress, says he is glad he lost. He quips that in Washington his wife Margy would have demanded the White House, so she will stay on the farm instead.
Queen Marie travels to Mary Hill Washington to dedicate the Romanian room at the Mary Hill museum. Samuel Hill sponsor of the museum and a leading Romanian party figure joins the royal delegation. After ceremonies the party will tour Portland and other large cities before returning to Washington. The queen inspected Spokane Chronicle and Associated Press offices to review election returns before departing.

New York returns show United States senator Wagner leading for Democrats with 1,299,001 votes, Wadsworth 1,167,714, Cristman 205,658 with 317 districts missing. For governor, Smith leads Democrat with 1,508,022 votes while Mills trails Republican 1,234,894 with 288 districts missing.
The complete city vote shows Wagner 767,741 for U.S. Senate with Wadsworth 390,700 as Republican and Cristman 22,754 as independent Republican. The tally reflects comprehensive city results and confirms party alignments in New York.
