Aurin Bugbee shot dead his estranged wife Cora Heckman and wounded her companion as they knelt in prayer before turning the gun on himself. In Lake Bluff Illinois Elfrieda Knaak, 30, died by self immolation in a police station furnace after declaring faith in a spirit love.
A plane lost control and plunged to the ground, killing the pilot. Witnesses reported a sudden dive and a catastrophic failure during flight, with emergency crews confirming the fatal outcome at the scene.
J W Ball cashier of the Gas City State Bank was robbed of a $10,000 payroll today by three men who fled in a car as he stepped from the post office with payroll funds for the Illinois Glass company. The trio were unmasked.

In Santa Rosa California an axe attack killed C J Bertola his wife Maria and their daughter Camille. Bertola was a former grocer. A suspect described as Camille Bertola’s former sweetheart fled as flames swept the home. Two boys discovered the scene and Bertola’s body with an axe wound. Sheriffs pursued the unnamed suspect.

In Tampa on November 1 Frank Moffett aged 65 shot and killed himself rather than be sent to a charity home. A physician found him dead in his room. he had received aid from friends for about a year.
