Wedding Postponed Due to Illness of Maxine McKenzie

The marriage of Miss Maxine McKenzie and Mr. Herschel Cubbie Roane Jr will proceed with only family present on Monday June 6. The quiet ceremony replaces the planned formal event due to the bride’s sudden illness and the reception is canceled. Miss McKenzie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul McKenzie, has been hospitalized for an emergency operation.

Jim Talbert permitted to build a cabin at 104 Ford Street for 800 dollars using day labor.

Swartz Club Feted At May Meeting

Mrs. Joe Glass hosted the Swartz Home Demonstration Club for a May study and program on the summer wardrobe. George Speir outlined dress construction details while stressing cotton fabrics and wool storage. The group viewed a century old handmade dress and related shoes from a Glass relative. Refreshments were served to several members.
