Sir Francis Chichester returned to Plymouth after a 28,000 mile single handed circumnavigation in the Gipsy Moth IV. He spoke of relief and joy at shore life after 107 days outward and 119 days homeward legs, with cheers from 98,000 spectators as he entered the harbor.
