Mauser Fined for Profanity and Assault After Family Row
Elward Mauser pleaded guilty in district court to profane language and assault with a hand saw in a Ward 4 home dispute. He was fined 500 dollars plus costs and jailed last night at the V P passenger station after his arrest following a stand against his wife Mrs Anna Mauser who accused him of repeated abuse and a violent attack. Roper Nabs Fugitive for Homer Officers
Tom Bridgeman, a Colored man, was arrested Tuesday afternoon at the building on North Third and Jefferson streets for the tonroe Hardware Company by Deputy Sheriff Roper at Homer authorities' request. He was returned to Homer Thursday afternoon in custody of U S Deputy Marshal Hugh Kirkpatrick. Bridgeman had been convicted of selling whiskey without a license and was serving a road sentence when he fled to Monroe to work for a contractor.
