Hammond La May 27 Mrs Rachel Johnson 82 of Dayton Ohio was killed when a buggy toppled from a bridge into a gully after a horse reared at an Italian man who suddenly appeared beside the road. Mrs Burch Hyde and her little daughter were injured. No guard rails on the bridge.

At Calhoun Louisiana yesterday the North Louisiana Agricultural Society toured the longest dirt road in the northern state built by state convicts. President I T Hamilton presided as E J Watson from Calhoun Experiment Station acted as secretary. A unanimous resolution urged Baton Rouge to push a statewide road program under Governor Sanders. J H Whyte of Shreveport and J Shaw Jones of Monroe led the effort.
Cleveland May 27 Chief of Police Frederik Kohler nicknamed the Golden Rule faces suspension on grounds of gross immorality drunkenness and disobedience as the Civil Service Commission schedules a trial. He vows to fight the charges and hints at broader political fallout.
In Logan Ohio today Miss Lillian Wright and Miss Flossie Harmon were instantly killed when their automobile rolled over. Several others were severely injured in the crash near Columbus observers reported.
