Explosion Aboard Zim Tokyo Kills One As Two Missing
A blast on the cargo ship Zim Tokyo 120 miles off Cape Henry Va killed one man and left two missing after the vessel rolled in 20 to 25 foot seas. Coast Guard cutters planes and a Navy oiler searched with Imperial St Lawrence aiding as 50 mph winds hampered visibility. Three others were injured and crews waited for further rescue. The ship sailing from New York to Savannah carried 32 crew. This followed an earlier explosion on the Oriental Warrior off Daytona Beach.
