Six naval fliers died when their large patrol seaplane crashed near Midway during fleet maneuvers off Hawaii. The crew of the 6P7 perished without knowing what happened, as rescuers found only wreckage and a single cushion after the loss of the sister ship 6P10. Eight total fatalities in the maneuvers included one destroyer collision. three planes were lost and four destroyers damaged.

Three Burned As Boat Explodes In Lake Charles
