New Orleans May 21 Tom Winn a 24 year old heavyweight boxer was found on stairs of a rooming house. He told his landlord he had taken poison to end his life but doctors found a harmless potion instead. He will leave hospital today. He was despondent because his wife left him.

Aviator killed as engine fails in Ohio air maneuvers
Second Lieutenant Florin W. Shade died when his plane crashed near Yellow Springs during a U S army air and ground war game in Ohio. The crash followed two engine failures after repairs. Shade was found dead at the wreckage with safety belt loosened.

Anderson Takes Over New Duties With Road Dept

Submarine and Crew Raised From Sea Bottom in Panama Bay
United States submarine S-11 and its crew were raised from 87 feet beneath Panama Bay on May 17 after S-12 and 8-20 located it. The Mallard rescue ship connected air lines and buoyed the submarine, completing the salvage by 3:65 p.m. with the main ballast tank ready to blow.
