Reds Sign Checks Of Antiwar Groups

A House Internal Security Committee witness testified that subpoenaed bank records show three individuals tied to Communist groups could sign checks for two antiwar organizations that backed large protests. NPAC leaders Sydney Stapleton and Patricia Grogan were the only authorized signers for NPAC. PCPJ listed Sidney Peck as a signer and VP.

Gremillion Perjury Action Is Studied

Rain showers and warm temps in Northeast Louisiana

Chance of showers and thunderstorms continues for Northeast Louisiana with partly cloudy skies through Friday. Morning rainfall at Monroe Airport measured .21 inches while Wednesday saw no precipitation. Wednesday's high reached 87 and low 63. Humidity remains high with dew points in the upper 50s to low 60s and limited sunshine around 50 percent today, rising to about 70 percent by Friday.

Madison Teen Dies in Two-Vehicle Wreck Near Delhi

A two-vehicle crash on US 80 east of Delhi claimed the life of 19 year old Danny Mitchell of Tallulah. Faye Brown, 15, of Waverly, suffered injuries and was treated at Richland Parish Hospital. John Thomas of Delhi drove the other vehicle and was unharmed. no charges were filed as police continued investigation.

Judge Jails Witness In Bomb Probe

Leslie Bacon, 19, antiwar activist, jailed for contempt of court for refusing to answer a federal grand jury about the Capitol bombing. Judge William Goodwin ordered confinement for the life of the grand jury, ending next March, unless she testifies.
