At the initial Monroe commission meeting on May 1, the council approved a four year contract for Walter G. Kirkpatrick as consulting and supervising engineer to design plans and supervise installations for proposed city improvements. The contract, contingent on bond induction, authorizes him to oversee utilities and public works and assist the mayor and council in administration. Public notice of the contract filing was given by City Secretary PP A Pong.

Plans for Monroe hotel on display and stock sale in progress
