A man about 42 drank carbolic acid on a northbound Missouri Kansas & Texas train after departing Temple Texas. A leather cigar case with the name C. J. Smith and a ticket from San Antonio to Kansas City were found on the body.

Delegates voted to drop International Sunday School lessons in favor of independent lessons and signaled plans to admit churches in regions previously under Northern Baptist influence. The move toward isolation was tempered by earnest reconsideration.
