Special guests include Dean and Mrs C C Calvert former editors Miss Laverne Larsen Ray Maynor Mrs Dorothy Younse James Bass Wharton Brown Billy Canterbury and Miss Eleana Brins. The finale is attendance at a picture show.
A rose bush in Durango from J. R. Cheney's home pushed a shoot through a window crack. The shoot grew inside the warm room and bloomed fully while winter remained outside, its roots still buried in the cold.
The Fifth District Medical society will meet at Hotel Virginia on May 23 at 5 p.m. Four prominent physicians will participate: Dr M. E. Lapham of Tulane, Dr J. Speed of the Walt Campbell clinic in Memphis, Dr Waldemar Metz, a New Orleans plastic surgeon, and Dr Lucien LeDoux of New Orleans. Topics include medical science relations to the community, fractures and treatments, facial bone fractures with auto accident focus, and obstetrical injuries prevention and treatment. Officers listed: Dr I. Hirsch president, Dr M. W. Hinter vice-president, Dr R. H. Frost secretary treasurer.
