Two Drowned When Truck Submerged in Canal Near Morgan City
In a six foot canal on the Old Spanish Trail nine miles east of Morgan City two men were found in a submerged truck. Royka 28 of Edinburg Texas drove the upside down vehicle and died from a broken neck while Margarita Salinas 23 also of Edinburg was in the truck. The Blue Bonnet Packers truck had delivered produce to the French market in New Orleans. A second truck helped pull the wreck from the water and an official from the company planned to claim the bodies.
