Jackson May 9 Henry Windham and Red Simmons held in Hancock county jail along with two other prisoners escaped from the county jail in Jackson by using keys fashioned from tin can material. The escape occurred about 2 am and was not detected until 6 am. The fugitives had been held since April 7 related to liquor and other charges near Bay St. Louis. Noah Dunaway and Barney Willis were taken with them as other prisoners.

H C Warner held for Winn parish authorities in the Tremont and Gulf railroad property robbery at Joyce escaped from the parish jail in Jonesboro this morning.
