A MacDill field heavy bomber with 10 aboard including two passengers is listed as missing after taking off for a routine training flight Wednesday morning. Crews searched the area near Tampa. eight crew members and two passengers are named with hometowns including Houston, Macon, Tampa, Berea, Lumpkin, Burwell, Waukesha, Green Bay, and Chicago. No trace found as of press time.

Major James Casteel said Private Robert Bernard of Lafayette La confessed to slaying Martha E Daily a 29 year old Houston nurse in a tourist camp in Houston Texas. He was arrested in Camp Shelby Mississippi after returning from furlough and held on the Texas murder charge as authorities consider military versus state court handling. Bernard claimed a quarrel with the woman and gave details of leaving Houston in her car before abandoning it and returning to camp.
