In Ouachita Parish a series of prenuptial events celebrates Miss Nell Marie Cheek bride elect of Rev. Walter G Mangham Jr. with dinners at the Luebleman home and a May 23 wedding at First Baptist Church. Guests include families of both families and sheriff department staff. Mrs Towns presided as Drew PTA held its final meeting of the year. The executive committee proposed higher dues, a president’s pen and gavel, improved bookkeeping with vouchers, and these were approved. New officers were installed by Mrs Tolleson. May 30 school ends and August 28 begins the new term.
